How old is the oldest known bottle of wine?

  • 852 years old
  • 937 years old
  • 1,650 years old correct

Personally, here at Trivia Hive, we like a good bottle of vintage, but that might be a little too past its prime if you know what we're saying! The wine was buried with a Roman noble near Speyer, Germany in 350 AD. It was discovered in 1867 and analyzed by the Kaiser’s chemists during World War I. One wine professor said of the liquid, "Micro-biologically it is probably not spoiled, but it would not bring joy to the palate." Anyone have a spit bucket?
